Vine Crops – Cucumbers

Description

Most cucumbers, squash and melons are considered vine crops.  Plant in the warmed garden after the danger of frost has passed for the best start.

These vegetables are sold in 804 flats, which includes 32 total plants — 8 paks per flat with 4 plants in each pak.

Our current offering of these vegetables includes the following (days to maturity once planted is noted in parentheses):

CUCUMBERS

  • Burpless:  Long deep green fruit that is very mild and sweet.  Grow on a trellis for straight fruit.  (60 days)
  • Bush Crop:  The compact habit makes it ideal for small areas.  Fruit is 6 to 8 inches long and 2 to 2-1/2 inches in diameter.  (60 days)
  • Bush Pickle:  Pickling type for space saving gardens and containers.  Straight fruit measures 4 to 5 inches long.  (45 days)
  • Marketmore:  Glossy deep green 8 inch fruit.  Resistant to downy mildew, scab and mosaic.  (68 days)
